Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and facilitate corrective, preventive, and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, adjustments, testing, and cleaning of Traction Power System equipment, including substations, switchgear, transformers, batteries, UPS, breakers, relays, and programmable logic controllers.
  • Monitor the Traction Power System to identify potential failures and diagnose malfunctions, executing repairs as necessary.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts, identifying and resolving technical faults in high voltage equipment, switches, circuit breakers, and SCADA systems, adhering to operational manuals and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Maintain comprehensive maintenance records for track, third rail, and associated infrastructure, utilizing a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Analyze log files to troubleshoot complex issues, implementing corrective actions and improvements.
  • Drive maintenance vehicles during emergencies and as required during duty hours.
  • Support on-site spare parts management and oversee the repair cycle.
  • Assist in preparing performance maintenance technical reports.
  • Generate work blocks and conduct job hazard analyses related to planned tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols during maintenance and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Conduct major and minor failure analyses and technical investigations.
  • Manage the execution of maintenance and repair activities for substations.
  • Plan and oversee the collection of maintenance records, monitoring daily performance.
  • Ensure adherence to technical specifications and operational tolerances.
  • Supervise technicians to ensure compliance with maintenance procedures, including safety and quality standards.
  • Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance tasks in line with safety policies and regulations.
  • Optimize resource utilization within the maintenance section.
  • Develop plans for preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure system availability.
  • Implement effective employee relations practices within the operational framework.
  • Conduct special studies and investigations as directed.
  • Work in close proximity to high voltage systems regularly.
  • Facilitate job and safety briefings as required.
  • Complete assigned operational and safety reports as necessary.
  • Participate in training programs as needed.
  • Utilize electronic testing equipment and specialized tools for maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure availability of calibrated materials, tools, and equipment for maintenance activities.
  • Identify failure trends early to mitigate impacts on system availability.
  • Assist in developing component overhaul and rehabilitation programs.
  • Adapt to shift rotations, including weekends and holidays, typical of major infrastructure projects.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete operational and safety reports as required.
  • Perform additional cross-functional duties related to electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems as qualified.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $126,803 - $190,205, determined by the candidate's experience, skillset, and internal equity.
