Position Overview

The Charge Nurse in the NICU is responsible for overseeing patient care, adhering to nursing regulations, and fulfilling the organization's priorities while enhancing accountability to advance our mission. Key responsibilities include assessing patients, identifying nursing diagnoses, developing tailored care plans, and evaluating patient responses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize nursing judgment and critical thinking to conduct accurate health assessments, ensuring alignment with established standards.
  • Review nursing procedures and implement changes based on research findings.
  • Exhibit compassionate care by addressing both emotional and physical discomfort, promoting healing and minimizing distress.

Qualifications for Success

  • Knowledge of nursing and patient care standards and protocols.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities combined with effective critical thinking.

Minimum Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited nursing program.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in the nursing field.
  • Current Registered Nurse License.
  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
