Shifts Available: Days

Shift Hours: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Shift Per Week: 3 shifts (36 hours per week)

Salary Range: $32.00 - $53.00 per hour


Job Description:


Join our team as an RN Charge Nurse in the Med Surg, set to open on January 11, 2025. This is an extraordinary opportunity to be at the forefront of our hospital's expansion, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare in the rapidly growing Round Rock community.


As an RN Charge Nurse, you will oversee patient care within the Med Surg unit, ensuring that all nursing practices align with our organization's mission and regulatory standards. You will evaluate patients, identify nursing diagnoses, create personalized care plans, and assess patient responses to treatment. This role requires strong leadership and clinical skills to provide high-quality care and support to both patients and nursing staff.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Utilize nursing judgment and reasoning to conduct precise health assessments of patients, ensuring adherence to standard practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate nursing procedures, implementing evidence-based changes as necessary.
  • Demonstrate caring practices by addressing both emotional and physical discomfort of patients, fostering healing and preventing unnecessary distress.
  • Lead and support the Med Surg team in delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring alignment with the organizations priorities and mission.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide clear, compassionate, and accurate information.
  • Engage in continuous problem-solving and critical thinking to address challenges in patient care and unit operations.


Qualifications:


  • Completion of an accredited nursing program.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a Med Surg or related nursing field.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
  • Strong understanding of nursing and patient care protocols and practices.
  • Proven communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
