The Permit Coordinator at Lennar plays a vital role in managing the Starts Process within the division office. This position involves developing panels, gathering necessary documentation, submitting applications for approvals and permits, and entering data into various JD Edwards screens. The role demands exceptional organizational skills and the ability to handle critical tasks associated with initiating home construction in Lennar's system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect necessary documents from Engineers and Architects to streamline the permit application process.
  • Secure all required approvals for permits and serve as the liaison between the company and relevant municipalities.
  • Prepare and submit applications to various agencies and boards responsible for required permits and approvals.
  • Review plans issued from the division for correct revision dates and ensure accuracy in start packages.
  • Coordinate documentation and applications with external consultants as needed.
  • Submit permit paperwork, enter permitting data, prepare start packages for construction managers, and arrange necessary inspections for closing.
  • Collaborate closely with municipalities to monitor the status of permits and ensure timely processing.
  • Create and maintain schedules for all communities, coordinating with municipalities from approval to final stages of the permitting process.
  • Organize and coordinate meetings, appointments, and other necessary engagements.
  • Maintain comprehensive company files related to site plan applications, approvals, licenses, and permits.
  • Attend county board meetings and hearings on behalf of Lennar to present projects and request approvals.



Your Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; a college degree is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in single/multi-family and amenity permitting.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with a knack for prioritizing tasks and taking initiative.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and plot plans.
  • Detail-oriented team player, comfortable in a fast-paced environment with a heavy workload.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.

Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements:


This role requires regular in-person attendance at Company communities/job sites and offices during standard work hours. It necessitates the ability to work over eight hours per day in confined spaces, operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, and perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving equipment exceeding 50 pounds. Occasional operation of construction equipment may be required. Finger dexterity is necessary for operating a computer keyboard and calculator.
