Your Role in Shaping the Future


The Permit Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the Starts Process within the division office. Responsibilities include developing necessary documentation, gathering essential paperwork, securing approvals and permits, and inputting data into various JD Edwards platforms. This position demands strong organizational skills and the ability to handle critical tasks associated with initiating home construction in Lennar's systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect necessary documents from Engineers and Architects to support the permit application process.
  • Ensure all required approvals for permits are obtained and serve as the liaison between the company and relevant municipalities.
  • Prepare and submit applications to various agencies and boards overseeing necessary permits and approvals.
  • Review plans issued from the division for accuracy in revision dates and verify start packages.
  • Coordinate documentation and applications with external consultants as needed.
  • Submit permit paperwork, enter permitting data, prepare start packages for construction managers, and arrange inspections required for project closure.
  • Collaborate closely with municipalities to monitor permit statuses and ensure timely processing.
  • Develop and maintain schedules for all communities, coordinating with municipalities from approval through the final stages of the permitting process.
  • Organize and coordinate meetings, appointments, and other necessary engagements.
  • Maintain comprehensive company files related to site plan applications, approvals, licenses, and permits.
  • Represent Lennar at county board meetings and hearings to present projects and seek approvals.



Essential Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; a college degree is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in single/multi-family and amenity permitting.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with a knack for prioritizing tasks and taking initiative.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and plot plans.
  • Detail-oriented team player, comfortable in a fast-paced environment with a significant workload.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.

Physical & Office Presence Requirements:


This role necessitates regular in-person attendance at company communities and offices during standard working hours. The position requires the ability to work extended hours in confined spaces, operate a motor vehicle, read plans, and perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs and lifting equipment weighing over 50 pounds. Occasional operation of construction equipment may be required, and finger dexterity is necessary for operating a computer keyboard and calculator.
