Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Equipment Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of high-speed processing and packaging machinery within a continuous Dairy Food Processing Facility. This position requires a collaborative team member dedicated to achieving production line efficiency. The work schedule consists of 10-hour shifts with rotating days, either from 2:00 PM to 12:30 AM or from 10:00 PM to 8:30 AM. Multiple vacancies are available for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proficient in troubleshooting and rectifying issues using skills in Industrial Electrical systems (480V), AC/DC Theory, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Pumps, Mechanical Maintenance, Motors, Digital Electronics, Print Reading, Control Circuits, Power Supplies, Power Distribution, Test Instruments, and Computer Systems.

• Understands the urgency of operations and aligns support with production needs.

• Promotes safe working practices for oneself and fellow operators.

• Implements established preventative maintenance protocols to sustain operational systems.

• Conducts repairs and replacements of faulty components.

• Adjusts functional elements of devices and control instruments.

• Maintains and repairs electrical instrumentation and control systems.

• Collaborates effectively with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams, demonstrating strong communication skills.

• Experience with boiler operations and ammonia systems is advantageous.

• Must possess a minimum of a twelfth-grade level in mathematics and reading.

•Completion of a Maintenance Skills Evaluation is required.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution; or one year of relevant mechanical maintenance experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Work Environment:

In this role, employees may frequently encounter moving mechanical parts, electrical hazards, and vibrations. Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, high elevations, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic substances, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat may occur. The noise level in the work environment is typically very loud.

Compensation: $25.50-$35.50/hr.

*The hourly rate is reflective of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The stated pay rate is one aspect of our comprehensive rewards package, which may also include group health and/or dental insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and holidays.
