Position Summary:
The Equipment Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in the upkeep and repair of high-speed processing and packaging machinery within a Dairy Food Processing Facility that operates continuously. This position requires a collaborative team player dedicated to achieving production efficiency goals. Work hours consist of a rotating 10-hour shift, with schedules including 2:00 PM - 12:30 AM or 10:00 PM - 8:30 AM. Multiple vacancies are available for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Proficient in diagnosing and resolving issues using skills in Industrial Electrical (480V), AC/DC Theory, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Pumps, Mechanical Maintenance, Motors, Digital Electronics, Print Reading, Control Circuits, Power Supplies, Power Distribution, Test Instruments, and Computer Systems.
• Recognizes the urgency of operations and aligns support with production needs.
• Upholds safety protocols for personal and team safety.
• Implements established preventative maintenance schedules to ensure system reliability.
• Conducts repairs and replacements of faulty components.
• Adjusts operational parts of machinery and control devices.
• Maintains and repairs electrical instrumentation and control systems.
• Collaborates effectively with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams, demonstrating strong communication skills.
• Experience with boiler operations and ammonia systems is advantageous.
• Must possess a minimum of a twelfth-grade education level in mathematics and reading.
• Completion of a Maintenance Skills Evaluation is required.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a technical college or two-year institution; or one year of relevant mechanical maintenance experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
- Candidate must be at least 18 years old.
Work Environment:
This role involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical hazards, and vibrations. Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, high places, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic substances, and varying weather conditions is expected. The noise level in the work environment is typically very high.
Compensation: $25.50 - $35.50 per hour.
*The hourly wage is based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The listed pay rate is just one aspect of our comprehensive rewards package, which may also include group health and dental insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and holidays.
