Director of Development

Distributed Solar Development is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Development - East Coast to lead our East Coast Development Team. This is a critical role that will support and manage the development portfolio for east coast projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective team development efforts.
Key Responsibilities:- Team Management: Manage and lead a team of Development Project Managers, assigning new projects, managing overall team workload and priorities, and conducting biweekly project check-in meetings.
- Project Oversight: Guide the East Coast development team to review technical documents, diligence reports, and external designs for accuracy and constructability, and review and approve project development costs from estimation to final budgets.
- Development Strategy: Oversee day-to-day development activities in support of DSD's business strategies, assist the Senior Director of Development in setting development team and individual goals, and manage business-level reports regarding project schedules and budgets.
- Leadership: Lead a suite of projects from award to NTP, creating schedules and budgets, leading external and internal project meetings, and managing development partners/consultants.
- Location: Located in/around the Mid-Atlantic or New England region with the ability to travel regionally.
- Experience: Experience in the solar, construction, or real estate industries, with a focus on developing C&I solar projects, including experience leading development of C&I solar projects with battery energy storage systems.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Natural Resources, Planning, Construction Management, or related field.
- Skills: Exceptional communication skills, experience managing a team of direct reports, and ability to work remotely and independently.
