Role Responsibilities
As a new member of our team, you will:

  • Provide expert technical guidance for frontline maintenance and advanced troubleshooting of both inertial and non-inertial navigation systems, ensuring the highest accuracy in navigation solutions.
  • Engage in the installation and comprehensive testing of upgraded hardware and software, collaborating with design engineers as necessary.
  • Undergo training to evaluate subsystem performance and recommend necessary maintenance, while working alongside colleagues to execute approved repairs.

Team Dynamics

Your role will involve supporting a diverse group of Operations and Engineering professionals across various programs within the Trident Navigation portfolio.

As a field engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting the national defense initiatives of the United States and its allies.

  • Key responsibilities include delivering exceptional service to the US Navy SSBN Submarine fleet and assisting various stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications:

  • An active Secret clearance is required, with the potential to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in an electronics-related field, or a minimum of 6 years of experience with the US Navy SSBN submarine operations.
  • Proficient understanding of electronics and the ability to utilize standard testing equipment, including digital/analog voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
Preferred Skills:

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as necessary to support urgent repairs.
  • Certification in Fiber Optic installation and repair.
  • Familiarity with Strategic Programs Office policies regarding maintenance and quality control.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for engineering report submissions.
Security Clearance Requirement: This position necessitates a government security clearance; candidates must be US Citizens.

Work Environment: This role is full-time and will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
