Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Used Truck Sales Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining valued customer and vendor relationships, creating opportunities for strong business growth, and managing the Used Truck Sales team towards set goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cultivate and maintain strong industry relationships to ensure a consistent supply of used inventory.
  • Build customer relationships and loyalty through a well-trained, knowledgeable sales staff.
  • Analyze data and market trends to proactively move older equipment and avoid overage positions.
  • Align department activities with the TEC value proposition and ensure that every employee and customer understands our values and customer commitment.
  • Conduct oneself with the highest ethical and professional standards, modeling the TEC Core values and fostering a culture of teamwork and friendly competition.
  • Commit to a strong and mutually beneficial relationship with the parts, service, finance, and new truck sales departments to maximize dealer profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Seek out, develop, and maintain excellent vendor and industry relationships.
  • Attend training, departmental meetings, trade shows, and conferences to stay up-to-date on company changes, industry trends, product updates, and technological advances.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience with P&L responsibility preferred.
  • Used truck experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of trucks and the truck industry.
  • Sound business acumen with the ability to analyze, prioritize, identify, and execute solutions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office and computer programs, including dealer management systems and customer relationship management systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure and exercise sound judgment at all times.
  • Ability to travel to other TEC locations and visit customers.
  • Valid driver's license required.
