Epigenetic Mechanisms Postdoctoral Fellow

Position Overview
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated full-time Research Scientist to join the esteemed lab of Dr. Jia-Ray Yu. This position is based at a prominent biomedical research institute and is focused on exploring the intricate mechanisms of epigenetic regulation in human malignancies. The lab employs a variety of advanced methodologies, including molecular biology, biochemistry, and genomic sequencing, to drive innovative research.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Standardizing cell culture protocols and methodologies to investigate chromatin dynamics in stem cells and cancer.
- Training new laboratory personnel in essential techniques and methodologies.
- Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of laboratory equipment and resources.
- Collaborating effectively within the lab and with external partners on various research initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant field such as Biology or Biochemistry, with substantial laboratory experience.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong project management and organizational capabilities.
- Demonstrated proficiency in documenting research protocols and maintaining accurate inventories.
- In-depth knowledge of molecular biology and biochemistry techniques.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in collaborative research settings is advantageous.
