The Crewing Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring that our vessels are staffed with qualified and capable crew members, adhering to both company standards and regulatory guidelines.

This position demands exceptional organizational and communication abilities, along with a solid understanding of maritime crewing protocols.

Key Responsibilities of the Crewing Coordinator

  • Develop and manage crew schedules to guarantee vessels are properly staffed and crew rotations are carried out efficiently.
  • Handle crew changes, leave requests, and emergency replacements as necessary.
  • Assist in the recruitment and onboarding processes for new crew members.
  • Maintain precise and current records of crew certifications, licenses, medical examinations, and other pertinent documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and crew members, promptly addressing any issues or concerns.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for crew members, including transportation, accommodation, and visa requirements.
  • Process crew payroll, keep accurate records of hours worked, and manage any payroll-related inquiries.
  • Ensure crew members receive necessary training and certification updates as required.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on crew staffing, scheduling, and other relevant metrics to management.

Qualifications for the Crewing Coordinator Position

  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in crewing, human resources, or logistics within the maritime sector.
  • Experience with Jones Act vessels is highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of Jones Act regulations, U.S. Coast Guard requirements, and maritime labor practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges and finding solutions.
