Job Title: Commercial Manager

The Commercial Manager plays a critical role in driving our commercial activities, including business development, marketing, tendering for projects, contract management, and commercial oversight of salvage and wreck removal projects worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute commercial strategies for small to medium-sized projects, collaborating with assets and operations divisions.
  • Work with bid teams to create innovative commercial and pricing approaches.
  • Negotiate and manage client contracts and subcontractor agreements.
  • Supervise project coordinators and commercial coordinators in project and office-based workload, focusing on cost control, billing, and subcontractor management.
  • Collaborate with internal and external legal counsel on contractual and legal matters related to salvage and wreck contracts.
  • Maintain close coordination with the financial team to understand and present revenue and profit status throughout the year.
  • Participate in the on-call commercial duty rotation for emergency response calls.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for shipowners and insurance companies in emergency response situations.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with clients in the insurance and shipping industries.
  • Manage and develop the third-party and subcontractor network.
  • Obtain and share market intelligence and industry news.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree, Maritime Academy degree, or equivalent, with relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial management, chartering, ship brokerage, seagoing/mariner experience, shipping, or related disciplines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically in Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Prior experience as a people leader is strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with situational awareness, are essential.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while under pressure.
  • Deadline-oriented and able to execute tasks to delivery dates.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset.
  • Proven dedication to team success and a willingness to work in a diverse, global environment.
  • Influential and persuasive leadership skills, with the ability to foster consensus and drive results.
