Job Summary

Amazon's Legal Department is seeking a highly motivated and experienced litigator to manage its worldwide portfolio of litigation and regulatory matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in government and regulatory litigation, with the ability to advise senior executives and manage complex projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise a wide range of domestic and international disputes and regulatory engagements.
  • Directly interact with government officials, including regulators and law enforcement.
  • Direct overall case and matter strategy, including selecting and managing outside counsel.
  • Assess risk and coordinate with senior leadership on risk management.
  • Manage responses to discovery requests.
Requirements
  • J.D. degree (or equivalent), and membership in good standing in at least one state bar.
  • At least five years of litigation and regulatory experience.
  • Hands-on experience in complex domestic and/or international business litigation, including trial experience and counseling parties and witnesses in pre-dispute and dispute resolution contexts.
  • Federal judicial clerkship.
  • Federal or state government service, including government litigation experience.
  • Law firm experience.
  • Trial experience.
  • Ability to manage a large number and variety of mission-critical projects, working independently and often in ambiguous environments.
  • Familiarity with Internet, software, and/or media industries and the legal and regulatory environment in which they operate.
What We Offer

Amazon offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $138,500/year to $229,000/year, depending on location. Additionally, we offer equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package.
