Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Counsel to provide general legal services and support to the Providence St. Joseph Health (PSJH) system. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice and consultation to PSJH executives and staff on various matters, including contracts, policies, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct research and analysis to provide policy recommendations and guidance on complex legal issues.
  • Prepare and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations, including Stark, Anti-kickback Statute, Medicare reimbursement, and HIPAA.
  • Collaborate with DLA colleagues to provide timely and effective legal services and solutions.
  • Participate in the supervision and preparation of defense in non-malpractice litigation matters and with outside counsel in the development of legal strategy.
  • Provide guidance and interact with various PSJH's corporate and community Boards.
Requirements
  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school or equivalent.
  • Admission to one of the following state bars: WA, OR, CA, AK, TX, NM, or MT within 12 months of hire.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare-related field, such as a private law firm, in-house legal setting, or public/regulatory organization.
