The Utilities Operations Supervisor is essential in guaranteeing the efficient functioning, upkeep, and supervision of all utility systems within the plant, alongside the management of departmental staff.
This role requires comprehensive knowledge of critical utility systems, including Anhydrous Ammonia Refrigeration, Plant Water, Steam Generation, Pneumatic Systems, Fire Protection, and HVAC.
As the primary supervisor for our dedicated night shift technicians, you will establish work schedules and priorities to meet the operational demands of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead by example, ensuring that team members comply with all safety and food safety protocols, addressing any deficiencies as they arise.
Possess extensive mechanical and operational expertise in plant utility systems, allowing you to effectively train staff and provide troubleshooting support to technicians.
Train and mentor utility technicians, promoting their professional growth and knowledge, while offering support through the Dupont training system.
Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing the current CMMS/SAP system for data entry and work management, and train other team members in its effective use.
Oversee daily safety meetings, huddle presentations, and provide team member support, along with daily downtime reports to management.
Collaborate with other departments to fulfill customer requirements, fostering and maintaining mutually beneficial partnerships.
Initiate orders for necessary parts and materials, ensuring timely follow-up.
Ensure proper PM procedures and schedules are in place to support effective equipment operation, repair, and maintenance.
Supervise and manage personnel to ensure satisfactory productivity and job performance.
Comply with all relevant PSM/Safety/Environmental policies and procedures while maintaining a strong safety culture.
Actively participate in and possess a thorough understanding of the Process Safety Management program (PSM).
Exhibit a positive attitude and maintain professionalism as a member of the management team.
Encourage open communication and foster positive working relationships across all departments within the facility.
Drive continuous improvement and personnel development in both operations and staff.
Recommend, develop, and implement process enhancement initiatives.
Serve as a key member of the overall Engineering & Maintenance organization within the facility.
Identify, assess, and recommend alternative maintenance support resources and services, ensuring maximum efficiency for machinery maintenance within budgetary constraints and timelines.
Play a crucial role in facilitating organizational change, both technologically and procedurally, in alignment with the company's goals and objectives, while upholding the highest ethical standards.
