Job Summary:We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented File Management Specialist to join our team at the VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION. As a File Management Specialist, you will be responsible for providing timely and accurate filing/scanning service to facilitate the work of the medical facility. This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment with a team of dedicated professionals.
Key Responsibilities:- Performs duties related to the receipt, intake, and indexing of health and administrative information.
- Connects with personal computer (PC) applications, DSS programs as well as numerous VistA applications.
- Indexes each scanned document into a SQL database.
- Reviews and research numerous and voluminous medical reports from non-VA health care facilities making a determination as to which documents are to be scanned, and when necessary, obtain guidance from providers and/or CPRS Committee's guidelines.
- Ensures that all necessary health/administrative information is integrated into VistA through PC scanning software. The incumbent must index this information using PC/VistA application bridges.
- Assists in training clinic staff in scanning key documents created on a concurrent basis (i.e. ER notes, advanced directives, consents, conscious sedation flow-sheets, etc.).
8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday
Requirements:- You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this job.

- Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
