This role is approved for remote work, with a preference for candidates in the Pacific time zone.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as the primary expert and first point of contact for clients, addressing a wide range of inquiries related to coverage, eligibility, contractual matters, and compliance with government reporting. Prepare endorsements as requested by clients and provide ongoing resource, trend, and legal updates. Routine inquiries will be delegated.
- For both new and renewal business, evaluate pertinent client data (such as census and experience data, and contractual insurance requirements), conduct market comparisons by analyzing insurance rates and renewal information, and obtain quotes. Collaborate with clients, typically senior executives and managers, to strategize and make informed recommendations regarding coverage and exclusions. Work alongside Producers to negotiate premiums and commission rates to secure the best options for clients.
- Support marketing and new business development initiatives for producers, which includes preparing presentations and proposals, and participating in meetings with potential clients as part of a team. Conduct marketing efforts for the employee's portfolio of business.
- Delegate administrative tasks to appropriate staff and oversee their completion.
• Assist the marketing team with the input and maintenance of the Agency Management System.
• Gather missing information from the Producer/Account Manager Team, including loss information requests, and follow up with relevant parties.
• Utilize advanced knowledge of carrier websites for application detail input.
• Analyze policies, coverages, and client operations to prepare insurance renewal options and advise on the best alternatives.
• Negotiate with carriers on behalf of clients to secure optimal premiums, commissions, and coverage.
• Prepare presentations for clients.
• Collaborate with other teams and provide assistance as needed.
• Work independently and efficiently to resolve issues or enhance service promptly.
• Demonstrate the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple competing tasks and demands.
• Ensure that expert knowledge is consistently maintained.
MARKETING:
• Prepare applications for presentation to carriers, including coverage analysis.
• Negotiate with carriers to achieve the best available premiums, commissions, and coverage.
• Conduct sales presentations as required.
PERSONAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
• Prioritize and manage personal workflow to ensure all objectives are met.
• Foster cordial and effective relationships with clients, colleagues, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts.
• Maintain up-to-date proposals, workflow logs, and documentation in the agency management system.
• Engage effectively with others using strong communication skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing information and guidance as necessary to achieve the company's business goals.
• Stay informed about industry trends, new product developments, coverages, legislation, and technology to continuously enhance knowledge and performance.
• Actively participate in community organizations.
• Present a professional image in both actions and appearance.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• May supervise Assistant Account Managers and/or Administrative Assistants.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
• Comprehensive knowledge of Property Casualty lines of coverage and services.
• Ability to recognize problems and respond appropriately.
• Capable of analyzing situations logically to draw sound conclusions.
• Advanced experience with Agency Management Systems, rating procedures, coverages, and industry operations to effectively manage and maintain assigned clients and prospects.
• Proficient in navigating the Internet and various Microsoft Office applications, including Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage Account Management staff and workflow.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required; a college degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience in a mid-size brokerage is required.
• Proficient in various Microsoft Office applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple competing tasks and demands.
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations, requiring teamwork, poise, tact, and diplomacy.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• California Property and Casualty License is required.
• A valid Driver License is required.
