Job Summary

This role is responsible for managing and overseeing the organization's import and export compliance with global regulations, including customs rules and regulations, tariffs, and free trade agreements. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and resources to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement import and export compliance policies and procedures
  • Manage relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other third-party providers
  • Lead and manage the organization's Free Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, including day-to-day management, filings, and process improvements
  • Develop and maintain an HTS classification database and work with product engineering and other stakeholders to resolve classification interpretations
  • Collaborate with logistics and other teams to ensure timely export and import of goods, in accordance with U.S. and local regulations
  • Support the organization's Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) and customs compliance programs
  • Participate in scheduled site assessments and audits, and ensure timely completion of corrective actions
  • Respond to local and regional government inquiries and requirements related to import and export compliance
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of regulatory changes and drive implementation of changes as appropriate
  • Ensure import, export, and other functional employees are aware of training available for compliance in their roles
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Logistics, or relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • 5-7 years of experience in managing import and customs regulations
  • Masters degree preferred
Travel Requirement
  • 5-10% domestic and/or global
