Key Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain high-quality technical content for Amazon OpenSearch customers, ensuring accuracy, discoverability, and organization.
  • Work closely with metrics and stakeholders to improve OpenSearch documentation and UX, driving a better customer experience.
  • Develop scripts, sample code, and technical procedures that are easy to use and understand.
  • Produce multi-service code examples that reflect common customer journeys and usage patterns.
  • Develop and formalize working relationships and processes to ensure code examples in guides are up-to-date, run as expected, and have unit tests.
  • Lead initiatives on the Code Examples team to improve code example delivery and publication mechanisms.
  • Provide thorough and insightful peer code reviews.
  • Mentor junior team members in team tools and processes, and provide guidance on creating and publishing code examples.
  • Implement efficiencies that increase team output and anticipate customer needs.

The AWS Documentation team writes and provides support for a diverse technical audience, including developers, DevOps professionals, IT professionals, and technical program managers. We innovate, research, learn, and experiment to provide high-quality documentation and code examples to our customers.

Basic Qualifications
  • Degree or certification in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a technical writing or programming role with high-quality written work artifacts.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering developer-oriented documentation.
  • Experience with or understanding of cloud computing, including cloud storage technologies.
  • Experience with open-source libraries.
  • Experience with API documentation.
  • Experience working directly with software engineering and development teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing, planning, and delivering content solutions that meet the needs of technical business customers.
  • Experience with XML-based publishing systems and working with XML, markdown, and HTML.
  • Familiarity with using and following a style guide.
