Job Description

The Amazon Robotics Infrastructure Engineering team is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join our team. As a Network Development Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying next-generation network products that enable Amazon's fulfillment centers, middle and last-mile facilities, and PrimeNow to deliver packages to Amazon retail customers.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Network Development Engineer who can create innovative network solutions that meet the needs of our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking technologies, including routing protocols, Linux/Unix environments, and automation scripting.

The Network Development Engineer will work closely with our IT support teams to ensure that our network products are simple to design and deploy, while also being secure and reliable. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of system inter-dependencies and limitations, and will be able to effectively research and benchmark Amazon technology against other competing systems in the industry.

The Network Development Engineer will also be responsible for contributing intellectual property through patents, and assisting in the career development of others through mentoring and coaching.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop next-generation network products
  • Develop and deploy network products that meet the needs of our customers
  • Work closely with IT support teams to ensure simplicity and security in our network products
  • Contribute intellectual property through patents
  • Assist in the career development of others through mentoring and coaching
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in major internet routing protocols
  • 4+ years of experience working in a Linux/Unix environment
  • 1+ years of experience in automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl
