About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team at Tekvivid Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative mechanical solutions for our intrusion products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Concepting and Designing
    • Design plastic optical (Fresnel) lenses and light pipes for use in intrusion motion detector products
    • Design plastic enclosures for motion detectors, keypads, and other intrusion products
    • Design sheet metal enclosures
    • Perform simulation analysis, interference analysis, tolerance stackup, and finite element analysis
  • Prototype Development
    • Create prototypes of product designs or engineering fixtures utilizing onsite machine shop equipment or external job shops
  • Testing and Validation
    • Perform pre-compliance and mechanical testing on product sample builds, including impact analysis, drop testing, and torque testing
  • Tooling and Documentation
    • Support tooling activities, including drawing updates, sample inspection, product testing, and release documentation
Requirements
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree with 5 years of relevant experience
  • Extensive experience with PTC Creo
  • Knowledge in optical lens design, plastic enclosure design, and sheet metal enclosure design
  • Experience in material properties (plastic, metal)
  • Ability to collaborate across functions as part of a design team
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Limited domestic and international travel and ability to work across global time zones
Preferred Qualifications
  • CREO certification (Modeling Professional, Surfacing Professional, Analysis Professional, or Associate Certification)
  • Ability to operate manual machine shop equipment (mill, drill press, band saw, lathe)
  • Optical design software experience
  • SAP experience
  • AutoCAD experience
