Test Operations Technician II

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Test Operations Technician II, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our test facilities and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to engineering and production teams in the design, test, and maintenance of ground systems, test, and launch facilities.
  • Perform operational testing and fault isolation on systems and equipment, including the use of manufacturing, test, development, or diagnostic equipment.
  • Assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions and assist in the design, construction, test, and checkout of test equipment.
  • Work safely with hazardous chemicals and high-pressure systems, and demonstrate a strong bias for safety in operations.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in test facility support, testing rocket or jet engines, flight vehicle systems, or closely related applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with test, flight, and safety-critical hardware, instrumentation, sensors, and electronics.
  • Experience with pneumatic systems, propellant loading and off-loading systems, and familiarity with tube fabrication, piping systems, and pressurized system safety.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, including P&IDs and fabrication drawings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of a variety of rocket propellants, including liquid hydrogen, liquid oxygen, and liquid methane.
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight-critical hardware.
  • MIG/TIG, orbital welding experience, and knowledge in tube fabrication.
