Lead Nurse Manager for Pediatric Care

Salary:
The estimated annual salary for this position is $124,000, based on the location and requirements of the job.
Job Description:
The Lead Nurse Manager for Pediatric Care will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to front-line staff in collaboration with the Clinical Manager. This role will involve spending 60% of the time in clinical shifts and 40% of the time in administrative/leadership, recognizing the importance of coaching, mentoring, and developing staff. This 24-bed acute care services unit is comprised of endocrine, GI, surgical, and gen peds overflow services.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all aspects of the Clinical Nurse job description when providing direct patient care during scheduled bed-side care shifts.
- Provide performance feedback to staff, including the documentation and counseling of performance issues.
- Maintain positive staff relations through Evidence-Based Leadership and Just Culture.
- Provide appropriate recognition to staff members.
- Balance staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and skill mix on every shift.
- Develop and maintain positive physician relations.
- Ensure clean sweeps/unit-based audits are conducted.
- Ensure readiness for disease-specific certification audits (where applicable).
- Monitor the expiration of staff licenses & certifications.
- Assume the Charge Nurse role (frequency varies by department).
- Take on patient load shift (frequency varies by department).
- Conduct family rounding (as it is rolled out to specific unit).
- Attend leadership meetings.
How You'll Be Successful:
Education: BSN Required
Credentials: BLS, PALS, TX RN License
Experience: minimum three years' nursing experience required; leadership experience preferred.
