Project Assistant Role at East-West Center

OVERVIEW: The East-West Center (EWC) is committed to enhancing relations and understanding among the people and nations of the United States, Asia, and the Pacific through collaborative study, research, and dialogue. As part of its mission, the Center engages in the PROJECT Governance initiative, a collaboration aimed at bolstering democratic institutions in the Pacific Islands region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage internal administrative functions to facilitate project operations.
  • Organize travel logistics and arrangements for project personnel.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of conferences, workshops, and events.
  • Provide administrative support to ProGov Graduate student fellows.
  • Ensure adherence to Center policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: The preferred candidate should possess a high school diploma and a minimum of five years of relevant experience. Excellent communication skills and the capacity to prioritize tasks are crucial. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other office software is necessary.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: The annual salary for this position is $55,000. Employees are eligible for health insurance, retirement savings plans, and paid time off. The East-West Center provides opportunities for career advancement and fosters a supportive work environment for its team members.
