Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at WellSpan Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and document patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, weight, BMI, respirations, and pulse.
  • Collect and process patient specimens, ensuring accurate tracking and logging.
  • Prepare patients for scheduled procedures, ensuring proper setup and equipment.
  • Administer vaccines, medications, and controlled substances under the direction of a licensed nurse or provider.
  • Document and process prescription requests and refills, adhering to established protocols.
  • Perform basic office procedures, examinations, and tests as ordered by the provider.
  • Provide patients with standard patient care instructions and education, reviewing with patient and family members as directed.
  • Obtain comprehensive health information from patients and family members to review with providers or clinical resources.
  • Manage daily patient flow, prioritizing tasks and activities delegated by the care team.
Requirements
  • Associates Degree in Medical Assisting or Practical Nursing required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
  • Medical terminology knowledge required.
