SIU Investigations Supervisor

The Supervisor of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) will manage a team of SIU Investigators with diverse experience levels who are responsible for probing into suspicious claims and underwriting issues. Candidates with substantial field investigation experience in SIU are also encouraged to apply if they meet the outlined qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct the activities of remote SIU Investigators.
- Set and evaluate unit objectives related to service, productivity, and quality of work.
- Organize unit workflows and allocate cases to team members based on their complexity, severity, and workload.
- Encourage collaboration and teamwork through effective leadership practices.
- Examine both active and completed cases in accordance with the Quality Assurance program to identify patterns, guide the team, and provide constructive feedback.
- Deliver comprehensive anti-fraud training to satisfy internal and regulatory annual requirements.
- Lead extensive multi-party organized anti-fraud initiatives.
- Assess data and trends to identify emerging challenges and improve referral opportunities.
- Assist in the creation of mandatory state SIU reports.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching sessions.
- Work collaboratively with claims and underwriting personnel to meet established goals for fraud detection, prevention, and awareness.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in SIU is required.
- A Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year institution is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of New York and New Jersey Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and other insurance coverages is essential.
- Prior supervisory experience in SIU is preferred.
- Professional designations related to SIU (such as FCLS, SCLA, CFE, CIFI) are preferred.
- Experience with major cases and litigation is advantageous.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities are required.
- Capacity to exercise independent judgment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must, along with experience in presentations and public speaking.
- Proficiency in claim applications and the Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.
