Position: Mobile Crisis Support Specialist

Key Responsibilities: The Mobile Crisis Support Specialist is an entry-level position aimed at delivering peer support under the direct guidance of licensed mental health professionals. This role involves assisting individuals experiencing a mobile crisis through our Mobile Response Program. Responsibilities include engaging in various activities to support those seeking recovery from substance use disorders, mental health challenges, or both. These activities may encompass mentoring, advocacy, and relationship-building.

Mobile Response Team Role: The Crestwood Behavioral Health Mobile Response Team (MRT) offers community-based interventions for individuals facing mental health crises. Our team is prepared to respond within the community to provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and stabilization services. The MRT comprises Licensed/Registered Mental Health Counselors and Peer Specialists who deliver support across various settings, including homes, parks, shelters, schools, and hospitals. The primary objective of the MRT is to de-escalate crises and connect individuals safely with mental health care and resources.

Work Schedule: On Call (12 Hour Shifts)

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist (CMPSS) is highly preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Experience working with individuals with neurological disorders and mental health issues is preferred.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Familiarity with DBT, WRAP, and Psychosocial Rehabilitation Principles is preferred.
  • Understanding of DMH Title 9 and relevant governmental regulations.
  • Valid California Driver's License.
