Tenderly Hospice is in search of dedicated volunteer Animal Therapy Specialists to provide visits to patients who have expressed interest in pet therapy through their hospice care team.
The simple presence of a therapy animal can stimulate the release of beneficial hormones, helping to reduce stress and combat feelings of loneliness.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver companionship and emotional support to patients and their families.
Essential Qualifications:
Empathetic and caring disposition.
Effective communication and listening abilities.
Dependable and responsible.
Willingness to participate in a volunteer training program.
Must possess a valid driver's license and have an automobile insured in accordance with state or organizational regulations.
Must successfully pass a background check and adhere to Tenderly Hospice policies and procedures.
Family members of patients must wait one year after the patient's passing to join the volunteer program.
