Position Available at the University of Saint Mary

The University of Saint Mary is currently looking for an Instructor to join our team in delivering English Composition and Literature courses as part of our General Education offerings within the Prison Education Programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-person classes focused on Principles of English, English Composition I, and English Composition II
  • Design and implement effective curriculum tailored to the assigned courses
  • Provide timely assessments and constructive feedback to students
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive educational atmosphere
  • Maintain accurate student attendance records and ensure timely submission of grades
  • Engage in mandatory training sessions and departmental meetings
  • Stay informed about the latest teaching technologies and methodologies
  • Perform additional duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in English or a related field
  • A minimum of three years of teaching experience at the collegiate level
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Commitment to the principles of prison rehabilitation
  • Alignment with the mission and values of the university
  • Experience in Communications is advantageous
  • Prior experience working in a correctional facility is preferred
  • Must be able to pass a background check
