At Atrium Health, we are seeking a qualified Spiritual Care Coordinator to provide direct spiritual care services to patients, families, and teammates.

About the Role

This is a PRN position, which means you will be working on an as-needed basis. As a Spiritual Care Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive spiritual care services in various clinical areas.

You will ensure that all referrals are responded to promptly and follow up is completed as needed. You will also provide spiritual care and counseling to patients, families, and teammates of diverse cultural and spiritual backgrounds, without proselytizing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily spiritual care visitation.
  • Ensure timely response and follow-up on all referrals.
  • Provide spiritual care and counseling to patients, families, and teammates.
  • Document statistics of spiritual care activities and complete charting for spiritual care interactions.
  • Support faith group leaders visiting their members who are patients.
  • Engage in other spiritual care activities as necessary.
  • Participate in staff meetings of the Department of Spiritual Care.
  • Maintain relationships with national spiritual care organizations and engage in activities necessary to maintain certification.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a Master's of Divinity or equivalency based on the Common Qualification and Competencies for Professional Chaplains. Additionally, you must have four units of Clinical Pastoral Education by an accredited ACPE center and certification with National Spiritual Care Cognate Group within 2 years of hire.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
