Position Overview:
DBRS, Inc. is in search of a dedicated professional with a keen interest in real estate finance and credit evaluation to take on the role of Analyst within our Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS) or Global Corporate Real Estate (GCRE) team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to lead analysts and team leaders involved in DBRS-rated transactions or entities, including CMBS, real estate investment trusts, and real estate operating entities.
The successful applicant will progressively gain a comprehensive understanding of the real estate markets in the US and Canada, while also familiarizing themselves with the relevant DBRS rating methodologies and criteria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the analysis and manage the rating process for US CMBS transactions, ensuring adherence to DBRS Policies and Procedures.
- Evaluate DBRS stabilized net cash flows across various property types and loan structures, considering market dynamics.
- Conduct thorough market research and financial assessments for rating committees and investor presentations.
- Perform site inspections across major property types nationwide.
- Prepare comprehensive Presale reports for investors, summarizing research and analysis findings.
- Execute credit evaluations and utilize quantitative models to determine creditworthiness for both multi-loan pooled and single-borrower transactions.
- Deliver loan-level analysis and quantitative insights, providing recommendations to the credit committee.
- Assist senior team members in developing investor reports and presentations for conferences.
- Mentor junior team members, fostering their professional growth.
- Address inquiries from clients and colleagues regarding methodologies, analyses, and research findings.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a commercial real estate finance-related role is required.
- A degree in finance, real estate, or a related field is essential.
- The candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills are crucial for success in this role.
- Proficiency in Excel and a strong desire to develop new analytical applications are necessary, along with well-developed writing abilities.
- All required documentation for domestic and international travel must be available.
