Overview

Role: The Principal in Residence (PIR) position provides an exceptional opportunity to collaborate with an experienced principal while gaining insights into the BRICK educational framework. PIRs are enthusiastic leaders who inspire their teams and mobilize students and families to achieve and surpass academic objectives.

Essential Functions

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the Director of Operations to meet academic, cultural, and operational targets.
  • Fostering a positive school culture aligned with BRICK's core values.
  • Implementing BRICK's academic and cultural models, emphasizing relevant instruction and restorative practices.
  • Leading professional development initiatives utilizing effective adult learning strategies.
  • Overseeing the instructional leadership team and mentoring teachers.
  • Mastering the subjects and grade levels to provide effective coaching.
  • Training educators on lesson internalization and strategic interventions to enhance student learning.
  • Guiding teachers in assessment administration and result analysis to develop actionable improvement plans.
  • Delivering high-quality instructional coaching through classroom observations and targeted support.
  • Internalizing the BRICK School Leadership Guidebook to align with the network's leadership approach.
  • Serving as the primary representative of the school, engaging with families and the community.
  • Working with the BRICK Superintendent to create foundational documents that outline academic priorities and progress monitoring tools.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership presence with the ability to inspire others in BRICK's mission.
  • Commitment to servant leadership, recognizing that a Principal's success is tied to the success of students and staff.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects and leading teams effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with diverse groups.
  • Proactive in creating new systems and working independently.
  • Dedication to ensuring the success of the founding school.
  • Proficient in computer applications and common software.
  • Experience supporting students and families in urban settings.
  • Preferred experience in charter school operations.
  • Possession of a valid Principal Certificate.
  • Willingness to travel for professional development opportunities.
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of teaching experience.
  • Proven track record of achieving high academic outcomes.
  • Ability to perform physical duties and adapt to various environmental conditions.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is required.

Salary, Goals, and Employment Period

Competitive compensation based on experience, with a twelve-month employment period and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, and pension plans.
