Women's Health Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Women's Health team at the Hampton VA Medical Center. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
Responsibilities- Provide competent, evidence-based Women's Health care to assigned patients with oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants as appropriate to the clinic setting.
- Responsible for providing competent, evidence-based gender-specific care to female veterans and oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants, as appropriate to the setting.
- Identify healthcare interventions and actions to assist patients explore long-range goals.
- Assist provider with routine gynecology procedures.
- Seek opportunities to participate in quality improvement activities related to provision of gynecology services.
- Assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization.
- Practice includes directing other providers.
- Provides peers with formal or informal constructive feedback for improvement.
- Supports colleagues and other nurses through knowledge sharing to provide safe, quality Women's Health care.
- Fosters a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of health care professionals.
- Evaluates outcomes of evidence-based decisions and practice changes for the Women's Health Program.
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
- Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
- English Language Proficiency.
This position requires visual acuity (including depth perception), keen hearing (aide permitted), clear distinctive speech, and manual dexterity in both hands. This position requires potentially long periods of continued walking (2-4 hours), standing (2-6 hours), stooping, sitting, bending, pulling (1-2 hours), and pushing (1-2 hours). lifting pounds), carrying pounds). Transferring patients and objects may be required. Mechanical inpatient lifts are provided.
