Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Mental Health team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct patient care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and promoting a safe and therapeutic environment for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to develop and implement comprehensive patient care plans.
  • Conduct patient education and counseling to promote recovery and wellness.
  • Participate in shift report and warm hand-off, MH interdisciplinary treatment team, MH Environment of Care rounds, and respond to psychiatric emergencies as directed.
  • Identify safety concerns and hazardous items to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment of care, and document nursing assessments, nursing plan of care, patient safety observations, and environmental safety rounds in accordance with facility policy.
Requirements
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • English Language Proficiency. In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7403(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English.

  • 2 years Mental Health experience
Working Conditions

This position requires visual acuity, keen hearing, clear distinctive speech, and manual dexterity. This position requires potentially long periods of continued walking, standing, stooping, sitting, bending, pulling, lifting, reaching, repetitive motion, and pushing. Transferring patients and objects may be required. Mechanical inpatient lifts are provided. The mental and sensory requirements include recall, reasoning, problem-solving, hearing, speaking clearly, writing, keyboarding, reading, and logical thinking.
