Job Summary

The Machine Operator 2nd Shift Specialist will be responsible for setting up and operating heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations. This is a night shift position that requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate machinery and equipment to cut, punch, form or paint quality finished or semi-finished parts.
  • Operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation.
  • Mark part number, order number, number of pieces on parts. Attach identification tags as required for customer to have the ability to locate correct parts.
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, and/or other technical data and select correct raw material or semi-finished parts.
  • Maintain continuous improvement practices in work area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • A minimum of one (1) year of related work experience in manufacturing or comparable work environment.
  • Experience with forklift and/or overhead crane operation a plus.
  • Required to use power hand tools.
  • Required to drive a forklift.
  • Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with a diversified work force.
  • Ability to read different measuring devices (tape measure, protractor, micrometer).

  • The employee is frequently required to walk.

  • Specific vision abilities include close-up and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
