Core Responsibilities:

  • COBRA Specialist Duties: Act as the primary contact for all COBRA-related tasks, including the preparation and distribution of notices, forms, and correspondence, as well as payment processing.
    • Monitor and manage daily correspondence, including COBRA invoicing and billing activities.
    • Provide exceptional customer service to COBRA members and their beneficiaries.
    • Conduct audit and reconciliation reports, collaborating closely with the Accounting Department for various financial reconciliations.
  • Sales Support & Administrative Functions: Serve as a vital support resource for assigned Regional Managers (Sales/Account Management), ensuring timely and high-quality proposals, processing of sold and renewal cases, and implementation of new clients.
    • Prepare and gather all necessary documentation for case submissions, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Maintain familiarity with benefits summaries, plan rates, and applicable data requirements.
    • Utilize quoting portals and manage quote tracking and reporting.
  • CRM System Management: Engage daily with our insurance system to process enrollments, coverage assignments, and necessary changes.
    • Handle full-time enrollment responsibilities for various dealer groups.
    • Manage new member additions, coverage assignments, and demographic changes.
  • Payment Processing: Oversee daily incoming invoice payments from dealer members and COBRA beneficiaries, along with online bank deposits.
    • Conduct daily auditing processes, generating reports and performing reconciliations prior to end-of-day deposits.
  • Customer Service and Sales Support: Address incoming claims calls and emails from dealership clients and associated members.
    • Assist with priority enrollments, ID numbers, and billing inquiries.
    • Collaborate closely with Regional Managers on account transitions and system implementations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience and comprehensive understanding of COBRA timeframes and responsibilities.
  • Diverse background in Customer Resource Management (CRM) Systems.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role or industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of employee benefits and claims processes, particularly in health, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong organizational and computer skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, data entry, benefits administration, and vendor management.
