Job Title: Clinical Assistant

At Integrative Emergency Services, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Assistant to join our team. As a Clinical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing administrative and clinical support to our healthcare providers.

Job Summary:

The Clinical Assistant will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including obtaining patient history and vital signs, documenting in the electronic medical record system, and assisting with patient and family communication. This role requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Obtain patient history and vital signs, and document in the electronic medical record system.
  • Assist with patient and family communication, including answering phone calls and messages.
  • Monitor lab and X-ray results, and review provider schedules to ensure patient flow.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities, staff trainings, and weekly team huddles.
  • Report errors or issues promptly to supervisor, and maintain security of medical records and patient health information according to HIPAA standards.
  • Communicate orders of medical supplies to the team, and follow through with customer inquiries and requests.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Texas Driver's license.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Preferred: Associates Degree, minimum of two years' experience in health education, patient navigation, and/or health clinic patient assistance field, prior healthcare experience, CMA or RMA certification, or bilingual skills.
Work Environment:

The work environment is typically low noise, and the employee will be required to stand, sit, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard. The employee may be required to walk through skilled nursing facilities, and will need to be able to lift and carry office supplies. The employee will be required to work in a smoke-free environment, and may be required to provide coverage at multiple facilities.
