About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team of healthcare providers at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. This role requires a candidate with strong organizational skills, a diverse set of interests and skill set, and strong interpersonal communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Thoroughly complete provider orders, referrals, and insurance authorizations to ensure timely delivery of care and provide patients with educational material.
  • Perform and process routine laboratory tests and sample analyses as ordered by the provider.
  • Deliver culturally competent care that respects each patient's individual beliefs.
  • Measure patient vital signs as standard of care.
  • Perform procedures, injections, and administer vaccines as ordered by the provider.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and properly dispose of contaminated or expired medical supplies.
  • Optimize patient scheduling by managing patient flow and providing access to care.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program, and six (6) months of customer service experience.
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities in maintaining and enhancing clinical skills and knowledge, team skills, accuracy and attention to detail, respect for standard, and customer focus.
  • Preferred qualifications include graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program, experience in ambulatory care, NextGen experience, and bilingual English/Spanish.
Work Environment

This role is a Monday-Friday position, 7:45 AM - 4:45 PM, with no security-sensitive requirements.
