About the Role:
The Executive Director Oncology & Specialty Services at John Muir Health is a key leadership position that supports and promotes the organization's mission, vision, and philosophy. This role is responsible for the daily coordination of the department, including clinical practice, research operations, human resource management, fiscal accountability, productivity, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Oncology Services department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve clinical practice, research operations, and human resource management.
- Ensure fiscal accountability and productivity, while maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Exhibit leadership, humanism, and professionalism in the management of the Oncology Services.
- Collaborate with physicians, building strong and trusting relationships with physician and physician leadership.
- Design and integrate workflows acceptable to providers and staff, ensuring efficient patient care, quality, and productivity.
- Proven personnel management strength, including selecting, motivating, developing, and retaining people, and promoting collaborative team efforts.
- Lead quality and service improvement activities, achieving outcomes that respond to customer expectations.
- Effectively lead the design and organization of work, allocating resources to achieve appropriate staffing levels and mix, and productivity levels.
- Expertise in data gathering, management, reporting, and interpretation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal communication, and public speaking skills.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends, with travel to various service locations required.
- High degree of organizational skills, ability to set priorities, manage multiple demands, and complete tasks under strict timelines.
- Knowledge of using practice management information systems to enhance the delivery of care, productivity, and efficient business operations.
- Manage multi-specialty practice departments.
- Thorough understanding of EMRs and how they relate to practice management.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Health Services Administration, Nursing, or Business Administration.
- Seven years of healthcare experience, with a focus on oncology cancer care.
- Three to five years of healthcare management experience.
- Program development experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of healthcare trends and forces.
- Demonstrated flexibility and initiative to lead change efforts.
- Working knowledge of oncology practice operations.
- Proven personnel management strength.
- Proven experience in leading quality and service improvement activities.
- Expertise in data gathering, management, reporting, and interpretation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal communication, and public speaking skills.

Exempt Salaried (United States of America)
Pay Range:
$216,324.00
Salary offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
