At the City of Florence, we are seeking dedicated, reliable, and adaptable individuals who are passionate about providing exceptional service in our dining establishment.

We are in search of skilled culinary professionals to enhance our kitchen team and contribute to the overall quality of our food service.

Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is a proficient, organized, and innovative culinary specialist. We value teamwork, adherence to instructions, and a commitment to delighting our patrons with exquisite dishes from our menu. In addition to culinary skills, excellent communication and organizational abilities are essential.

A successful applicant will be at least 18 years old, capable of standing for extended periods, possess a keen attention to detail, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen while preparing, cooking, and presenting food alongside fellow kitchen staff. We take pride in our outstanding service and expect the same from our culinary team.

Cook Job Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a culinary role is essential.
  • Proficiency in operating kitchen equipment or a willingness to learn quickly.
  • Familiarity with various cooking techniques.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to sanitation standards as mandated by health authorities.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and respond swiftly.
  • Mandatory use of slip-resistant footwear and appropriate kitchen attire.

Responsibilities of a Culinary Specialist:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service, positively influencing interactions with guests and colleagues, while maintaining composure in challenging situations.
  • Prepare a variety of dishes using grilling, frying, broiling, baking, boiling, braising, poaching, or pantry methods; ensure that all presentations are visually appealing and meet customer and chef specifications.
  • Identify and appropriately pair sauces with daily menu items.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station.
  • Assist team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Uphold cleanliness in the workspace; report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions.
  • Properly store food items, including leftovers from previous services.
  • Ensure all supplies are adequately stocked and equipment is functioning properly.
  • Effectively close down work stations at the end of service.
