POSITION SUMMARY:

The Facility Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all elements of the cleaning crew, landscape service providers, pool maintenance, pest control management, and outsourced cleaning services at OdySea Aquarium and Arizona Boardwalk. This role also includes supporting the maintenance manager as needed. The supervisor prioritizes tasks to ensure optimal use of labor, materials, and budget, while guaranteeing appropriate resource distribution. A commitment to delivering high-quality service to both internal and external stakeholders is essential. A comprehensive understanding of inventory control, sanitation standards, scheduling, and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail is required. As a member of the OdySea Aquarium team, the Facility Operations Supervisor must exemplify strong work ethics, patience, kindness, respect, forgiveness, and honesty. Effective communication is crucial, maintaining a focus on exceptional guest service. Collaboration with all departments and team members is expected, providing support to both colleagues and guests. The role emphasizes the organization's mission and vision, focusing on education and conservation while ensuring an outstanding guest experience.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Mentor and guide team members to highlight the significance of their roles and their influence on the guest experience.
  • Manage all aspects of the cleaning staff and vendor relationships, motivating team members and vendors to foster productive interdepartmental connections.
  • Prepare and submit an annual budget for cleaning supplies for approval.
  • Continuously monitor and manage the inventory and usage of cleaning supplies.
  • Support and execute maintenance programs necessary to maintain a safe and fully operational facility year-round.
  • Establish and enforce cleaning protocols to uphold the highest cleanliness standards at all times.
  • Assess departmental operations and implement improvements as necessary.
  • Respond to maintenance repair requests, prioritize them, and inform the requesting department of expected completion times.
  • Maintain all relevant records and reports.
  • May be assigned additional responsibilities based on business needs.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant field experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and management skills are essential.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
PHYSICAL AND MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Allergies related to animals or plants must be managed with appropriate medications or protective gear.
  • Ability to endure high noise levels in the work environment.
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods and walk frequently.
  • Ability to use hands for various tasks, including reaching and handling objects.
