Location/Division Specific Information

Our Cincinnati site is recognized for its expertise in specialized oral solid dose manufacturing and drug development within our Pharma Services Group (PSG).

What is your role?

The main objective of this position is to act as the Utilities Project Engineer and THP (Temperature, Humidity & Pressure) CMS (Critical Monitoring System) System Owner for the Cincinnati Site. This role will provide support for daily THP challenges and upgrades, focusing on the execution of utility projects along with the qualification and validation/revalidation of utility projects and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Project Engineering efforts for Mechanical Systems & Power Plant Projects, overseeing all phases of design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Serve as the owner of the Temperature, Humidity, and Pressure (THP) CMS, ensuring optimal functionality and efficiency to maintain the site's operating conditions.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of new equipment within the power plant/processes, including RO Skid, purified water enhancements, and THP Upgrades, to deliver comprehensive technical support.
  • Conduct Practical Performance Improvement (PPI) initiatives for existing HVAC and mechanical equipment, enhancing efficiency and reliability.
  • Oversee qualification and validation processes for new equipment installations and upgrades, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
  • Enhance existing preventative maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) procedures and job plans for current utilities and mechanical systems.
Qualifications:

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing utilities, project management, and mechanical systems engineering.
  • Proficient in critical monitoring systems and data analysis.
  • Preferred familiarity with utilities systems, including RO systems and purified water systems.
  • Understanding of performance tuning and optimization methodologies.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, equipment specifications, and submittals.
  • Experience with GMP and/or ISO regulations is preferred.
  • Background in Utility Systems and Mechanical Systems.
  • Experience with Project Management intricacies.
  • Knowledge of Practical Process Improvement (PPI) and data analysis for enhancing efficiency in preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD is preferred.
