POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in delivering project oversight, management advisory services, analytical support, and technical expertise across a wide spectrum of financial and operational challenges within the division. This position is integral in developing processes for monitoring financial performance and coordinating the collection, interpretation, and presentation of monitoring data. The analyst will engage in the planning and formulation of division, departmental, and/or functional budgets and forecasts. Additionally, this role involves participation in budget system completion, conducting high-level reviews, and performing comprehensive analyses for target development. The Senior Financial Analyst serves as a consultant, facilitator, and change agent, effectively collaborating with executives, leadership, physicians, clinicians, and various stakeholders to optimize the use of personnel, processes, and technology aimed at minimizing charge discrepancies, reducing rework, enhancing overall net revenue, and curtailing expenses.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure/Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Management; an MBA is preferred. A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, or analytical support is required.
  • Experience should encompass healthcare operations with a strong focus on healthcare analytics, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Knowledge:
  • Proficient in Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint, with a proven track record of generating statistical reports.
  • Familiarity with healthcare operations is essential; knowledge of Lean principles is advantageous.
Skills:
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; adept at 10-key by touch; capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions; able to reprioritize tasks as necessary; skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously; proficient in meeting deadlines; outstanding oral and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision while securing support from various management levels.
  • Competence in extracting data from diverse computer systems to create management reports for leadership.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a capacity for diplomacy and persuasion; must maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to anticipate and understand customer needs and objectives from various perspectives, including programmatic, financial, technical, organizational, and cultural.
  • Well-versed in financial analysis with robust analytical skills to interpret large datasets and derive insights.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities, along with proficiency in research, analysis, and project leadership.
  • Proactive in initiating communication with stakeholders to gather relevant business information.
  • Skilled in building strong teamwork and business relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Decision-making involves interpreting and analyzing extensive data; exercises considerable judgment in addressing less defined and complex issues.
