Job Title: Operations Manager

United States Cold Storage is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the planning, development, and implementation of all warehouse procedures and activities required to meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership to the efficient coordination and execution of workflow throughout the warehouse, ensuring safety, sanitation, security, cost controls, productivity, accuracy, team environment, and customer satisfaction align with facility goals.
  • Oversee inventory control functions and procedures, including cycle counts, product rotation, and recall, training, customer claims, and requests, and record keeping.
  • Direct and oversee job assignments and plan daily labor schedules.
  • Participate in the hiring and training process of new warehouse employees.
  • Audit operations with food safety, quality, and legality in mind.
  • Work with Customer Service personnel to ensure all requirements and requests are responded to in the highest professional manner and maintain a professional and courteous relationship with all customers.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships at all levels within the USCS team environment.
  • Provide leadership and communication as needed to maximize individual and team performance.
  • Act on the General Manager's behalf when necessary.
  • Assist in processing payroll as necessary.
  • Provide assistance, where needed, in processing invoices, claims, and freight charges.
  • Complete any additional tasks delegated by the General Manager.
Requirements:
  • 4-year College Degree or 5+ years supervisory experience in a similar industry/business preferred.
  • Warehouse Supervision and operations, preferably in a food or temperature-controlled environment.
  • Radio frequency and other warehouse computer applications such as MS Office and Lotus Notes.
  • Detail and customer service oriented.
  • Planning, organizing, professional written and oral communication, problem-solving, decision-making, excellent mathematical skills.
  • Must be able to consistently lead and influence others to take positive action.
  • Handle multiple high-priority tasks in a fast-paced team environment and requires the ability to work well independently with minimal supervision.
