Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at University Hospital in Madison, WI. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients undergoing surgery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the Operating Room for surgery, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Assist the surgeon during surgery, providing support and maintaining a safe environment for the patient.
  • Care for patients during surgery, monitoring their vital signs and responding to any changes.
  • Maintain and sterilize instruments and equipment, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and efficient workflow.
Requirements
  • Minimum two years of scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience required.
  • Strong endovascular and peripheral vascular experience, with skills checklist including endovascular ratings and peripheral vascular ratings.
  • Experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital.
  • Prior traveler experience highly preferred.
  • BLS certification through American Heart Association ONLY.
  • Successfully completed a surgical technologist program or two years experience in Surgical Technologist role may be considered in lieu of completion of program.
  • Two completed references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only from work performed in the last two years).
Working Conditions

Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the traveler's competency skills/experience. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization.
