Making Opportunity Count Inc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Assistant Director of Housing Assistance and Support. This role will play a critical part in the organization's mission to create positive change and enhance the lives of individuals and families in Central Massachusetts.
Key Responsibilities- Program Oversight: Provide strategic direction and operational management of rehousing case management efforts, ensuring alignment with Emergency Assistance (EA) programming guidelines.
- Strategic Planning: Implement and refine program strategies to enhance overall effectiveness and compliance, analyzing data trends to drive continuous improvement in program delivery.
- Staff Supervision: Direct the maintenance of accurate and timely spreadsheets and reports that track program performance and case management metrics, providing high-level oversight and guidance to enhance performance.
- Community Engagement: Represent the program at Emergency Assistance (EA) meetings and training sessions, ensuring that the program remains at the forefront of industry standards and practices.
- Stakeholder Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with property owners and other key stakeholders, advocating for the HomeBASE Program and addressing any concerns or issues.
- Process Improvement: Continuously assess and enhance program policies and procedures to improve service delivery and program impact.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, or related field preferred. Extensive experience with EA programming can substitute for a degree.
- Experience: 5 years' experience in the human service field, with 2 years' experience working within the State's Family Emergency Assistance Program funded by EA.
- Skills: Strong understanding of the various housing opportunities available to low-income families, and the ability to navigate the application and approval process for various housing opportunities. Ability to demonstrate compassion and the ability to understand the needs of homeless families.
- Personal Qualities: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to think creatively and respond to crises quickly and calmly. Ability to always maintain a polite and professional demeanor.
