Job Summary

Odle Management is seeking a highly skilled Addiction Counselor to join our team as a Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist. This is a salaried, exempt position responsible for designing, developing, and coordinating the Alcohol and Other Drugs of Abuse Prevention/Intervention Program at the Potomac Job Corps Center in Washington, DC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Coordination: Design, develop, and implement all programs related to substance use and abuse prevention and intervention in conjunction with the Mental Health Consultant and Health Services staff, center physician, and Center Director.
  • Training and Education: Conduct in-service training sessions with both staff and students in all areas related to substance use and abuse.
  • Case Management: Monitor behavior and progress of students involved in the Alcohol and Other Drugs of Abuse Prevention/Intervention Program.
  • Reporting and Record-Keeping: Maintain confidential reports and records on all referrals and cases.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Act as liaison between center and agency resource and referral contacts, and clearly communicate and consistently model appropriate Career Success Standards and employability skills.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Active, unrestricted substance abuse license or certification that meets minimum state licensing or certification requirements to practice in the state where Center is located. Prefer one year of work-related experience, preferably working with youth.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Broad-based knowledge of counseling techniques, knowledgeable in the area of alcohol and other drugs of abuse intervention programs, ability to design, develop, and implement a program related to alcohol and other drugs of abuse and interventions, training skills in both individual and group counseling methods, good organizational skills, and excellent communication skills.
