As a Mechanical Application Engineer at The Davis Companies, you will play a crucial role in bringing innovative mechanical solutions to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Sales team to develop concepts, layouts, cost estimates, and quotations that meet customer requirements.
  • Interface with customers to create approval layout drawings that meet their needs.
  • Identify changes between the initial proposal and approval drawing to capture any change orders required.
  • Perform system throughput calculations to ensure efficient design.
  • Create 3D simplified concept models of chute designs for handoff to project engineering.
  • Conduct an engineering kickoff meeting to handover project requirements and completed approval drawings to Project Engineering.
  • Support Project Engineering throughout the project as needed.
  • Lead a team of 2-3 Mechanical Application Engineers focusing on other product lines.
  • Review the work of other Mechanical Application Engineers for completeness and accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree
  • 5 years of Material Handling Experience, preferably in sortation and/or system design
  • 2D and 3D modeling experience required, with proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, and Emulate 3D, and consideration given to other CAD software experience.
