Electrical Reliability Specialist

- This role reports directly to the Reliability Superintendent and is pivotal in enhancing refinery electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Manage various projects related to the maintenance and enhancement of refinery electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Develop specifications and installation protocols for electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Offer technical guidance and leadership in the electrical and instrumentation domain.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems across the refinery.
- Utilize computer-assisted software (ETAP - Electrical Transient Analyzer Program) for electrical infrastructure assessments.
- Support ongoing projects and ensure quality assurance.
- Coordinate efforts to analyze breakdowns and failures, aiming to eliminate root causes, enhance reliability, and reduce costs.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering technology.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying innovative electrical/instrumentation solutions that boost profitability and reliability.
- Assist in the development and updating of P&IDs to reflect field modifications.
- Provide technical assistance to the maintenance team, including overseeing electrical checks before system commissioning.
- Establish and maintain standardized specifications for electrical selection and installation.
- Conduct primary reviews of vendor and contractor electrical designs to ensure compliance with refinery standards and safety regulations.
- Demonstrate reliability and commitment to organizational objectives through high performance, professional development, and attendance.
- Build trusting relationships with colleagues and across various functional areas.

- Participate in training as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
To qualify for this position, candidates must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship. Additionally, candidates must be eligible to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required, with a preference for Electrical Engineering.
- At least two years of experience in electrical engineering is preferred.
- A valid U.S. Driver's License with an acceptable driving record is necessary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
- Familiarity with ETAP (Electrical Transient Analyzer Program) is preferred, with on-the-job training available.
- Knowledge of SAP work orders and system notifications is desirable.
- Availability to work during off-hours for emergencies and turnarounds is required.
- Candidates with more extensive qualifications may be considered for a higher-level position.
